If you are looking to be a Finance Manager then you will be responsible for managing a company’s finances and running the finance department. Usually you will be education to degree level in finance and have a number of years (five years plus) working in different roles within a finance department.
You will be excellent at working with numbers and figures, understand how a finance department works and the different areas and be able to manage a team of staff. You will need to be able to keep up with the changes in law relating to finance and discuss these with Directors and advise them accordingly. This is a very responsible role within a company.

In my role as Finance Manager I manage the department and all the financial elements of the business. My responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the finance department
- Holding weekly meetings with my team
- Arranging for payments to be made
- Dealing with any unpaid invoices

- Overseeing payroll runs
- Balancing the accounts
- Dealing with Tax returns, National Insurance etc.
