A Paralegal person is not as highly qualified as a Solicitor but you will have a good standard of education and knowledge of the legal system. Although paralegals do a lot of similar work that a Solicitor would do they have not studied Law as a Degree. Paralegals normally specialise in one area of the law ensuring that they know this area inside out.
As a paralegal you would be required to do a lot of research and administrative tasks behind cases and dealing with clients and finding out information for them. It is a good role to have if you have a keen interest in the Law.
As with all legal roles, you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to write reports and present these well. You will sometimes have tight deadlines to work to and will work with a variety of clients both for business and personal reasons.
