Software Engineer CV Example

As a Software Engineer you will be involved in writing and creating new programs and databases, systems etc that a business will use. This could be for a company you work for internally developing their own programs or it could be that you help to write and program these new programs to sell to other businesses.

You will have a technical mind and enjoy learning new IT skills and have an all round good knowledge of IT. You will need to have good communication skills and be able to discuss your programs and what you are working on in a non technical manner.

I am a hardworking and technical person who enjoys working in IT. I like to ensure that I keep up to date with the latest programs and technology and enjoy doing new courses and learning new skills. With my chosen career it is important to keep up to date so that my skills do not get out of date.

I enjoy working in a challenging environment and feel that working in IT is such an environment. I am used to working to tight deadlines and I am able to prioritise my workload well to ensure that my projects are managed effectively.

Date to Date or To Date – Software Engineer – Where?

In my role as a Software Engineer, I work in a busy IT department writing new programs and developing the software side of our business. My responsibilities include:

Writing in various programming languages (C, C++, Visual Basic, Java)
Planning with the IT team and Management what programs need to be developed
Helping with the testing and rolling out of new programs that I have been responsible for
Resolving problems and tweaking bits of programs
Providing advice and support to other team members

Computer skills – MS Office, Excel??? Specific IT skills, languages that you can program in, programs, links to what you have written etc.
