If you have been for an interview and want to say thank you then this is a nice thing to do which also reminds the employer that they interviewed you and gets your skills and attributes back in the forefront of their mind.
Try to write your letter and refer to some of what you discussed in the interview so that they know that you listened and what parts you took on board. Make them relevant to the role rather than specifically about the company.

I am also very interested in working for COMPANY NAME because (put some reasons as to why – I like your thinking for the future, I feel that you have a good future in your industry etc).
The skills and experiences that I have learnt to date are very similar to the role that you are looking to recruit and I feel that because of (NAME some of the skills relevant to the role they are looking for that you can do and briefly explain how/why).
Thank you again for taking the time to interview me, should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
