If you are interested in applying for a role as a Zookeeper then you will have a keen interest in zoo animals and maybe have done some work experience with animals before. As a zookeeper you will be expected to look after and care for the animals – clearing out their bedding, where they sleep, their house, feeding them, giving any medication that they may be on, make sure they get enough fresh air, exercise and generally ensure that they are looked after and treated very well in their home at the zoo.
You will need to be interested in animals, you may want to concentrate on a particular species and become a specialist but you will work with all the other zookeepers to ensure that the animals are well looked after and enjoy their life at the zoo and continue to thrive in that society.
