Clinical Trial Assistant Sept 2015 – present

Duties included ensuring patients were fit to receive the trial drug, recording results and inputting data. Trial was oncology based and required a lot of extra reading and study which in turn gave me a firm understanding of chemotherapy and how it affects the body. This role requires me to me more organised than ever before but sadly the trial is coming to an end having been a success in this phase and so I need to move on.

ABC Medical | West Midlands

Histology Lab Assistant Jan 2013 – Sept 2015

Duties included analysis of human tissue samples and diagnosis of disease in a busy laboratory. Skills learned included microtomy, embedding, fixation and staining. There was a lot of clerical and data input work associated with this role, as well as learning about the safe disposal of hazardous waste. Each day was a challenge and I learned so much while working here. Left due to being offered a position with the clinical trial team at Liverpool which was an exciting, groundbreaking opportunity – something I just couldn’t turn down.
