If you have found a job that you want to apply for as a Yard person then you will usually have some knowledge or a background in working outdoors in a hands on environment. As a Yard person you could be looking after a site, providing maintenance for a site or repairs etc, your role will be varied and you will need to be good with DIY and repairing and building small items.
If you are working as a yard operative then your salary would be between £16,000 and £19,000 a year. With forklift qualification, your earnings can be between £15,000 and £18,000 a year. If you are a supervisor then expect to earn up to £23,000 a year.

I have had experience in working outdoors for a number of years and more recently have been working at a school as their caretaker providing maintenance and repair support both inside and outside of the school grounds. I have always been a very hands on person and like to see the results when I have been able to fix something or repair it to a good standard that can be used again. I have a good mind when it comes to thinking logically about how to repair items or equipment and I am always happy to give anything a go.
I have had a supervisory capacity in my roles and am used to monitoring someone else’s workload and reviewing their roles. I feel that I have got good supervisory and communication skills and have a very helpful but thorough nature.
