If you are looking to be a Veterinary Technician then you will perform tests and procedures on animals under the guidance of a qualified Vet. You will provide support to the Vet and diagnose problems with the animals that they are treating. It is a very hands on role and you will need to be interested in the Sciences and prepared to do a lot of training.

Application for the role of Veterinary Technician
I would like to apply for the role of Veterinary Technician that you have advertised in (where) and (when) for (which practice).
I have always had a keen interest in the Sciences and did Biology and Chemistry at A-Level and I have wanted to pursue a career as a Vet and would like to experience how it is to work in a Veterinary surgery first hand and feel that by working as a Veterinary Technician I will be able to do this whilst providing support to the Vet in charge.
Having looked into your practice and clients that you work with, I am very excited to be able to apply for this role. I would like to work with all animals as you do and have always been interested in large animals and the challenges a Vet faces whilst working with these animals.
I am a methodical worker who is not afraid to get stuck in. I enjoy learning and working hard and I feel that working with animals and helping them to get better is something I would really enjoy as a career. I am passionate about making a difference and feel that I could be of great support.
I have enclosed my CV for your interest. If you are interested in my skills, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and CV, I look forward to hearing from you.
Good luck with your application and writing your covering letter.
