If you are looking to apply for roles as a Network Support Engineer then usually you will have a strong IT background which is a combination of support and being an engineer. You will have excellent networking skills and you will be familiar with and used to travelling and working with other clients usually on site.

I would like to apply for the role of Network Support Engineer that I have seen advertised in (which publication, when).
I have been working as a Network Support Engineer for over three years now and I am seeking a new role such as the one that you have advertised which covers a wider area and scope as a new challenge.
I enjoy working with clients, new and existing and I am used to travelling to different sites across the UK to meet with my clients and provide network support for them. I primarily visit my clients to help find and fix any network faults, setting new users up and carrying out day to day network monitoring and administration.
I feel that I have excellent communication skills and have had a lot of experience in working with clients on a daily basis. I feel that I can explain technical information carefully to non technical users. I have also provided training for clients on how their systems work and how they should be operated etc.
I have a very logical and technical mind; I have excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise the most important tasks. I am very organised and can multi task and project manage new systems.
