Are you a LGV Driver looking for a new role or have some previous driving experience and recently got your LGV licence so now want a new role as an LGV Driver then it is best to ensure that your CV states your experience and skills clearly so that a potential employer can see what you have done. As the focus is on driving, it would be useful to state where you are used to driving to even if it is not long distance, it highlights your skills and demonstrates what you are able to do and what you may need to learn eg new areas/locations etc.
You may also want to think about what you will be delivering and what you will need to do in terms of ensuring the delivery arrives and leaves your LGV and the same when you need to pick up a delivery etc.

I am a hardworking individual who has built a career out of Driving. I enjoy driving. I am very diligent and thorough when driving and always ensure that I take care of the vehicle that I am driving.
I feel that I have got good concentration skills and able to think clearly when on a driving job. I am used to driving for long periods of times to different locations carrying different loads and I always perform well on all my driving runs.
I am self motivated and hard working, I feel that I am able to organise my routes well and to ensure that I do as much as I can in the time that I am able to drive in. I have excellent administration skills and always ensure that I keep my logs and mileage records up to date for every trip.
Date to Date or To Date – LGV Driver – What company/organisation?
In my role of Long Distance Lorry Driver, I drive a LGV to different locations delivering different packages. My responsibilities include:
- Ensuring my vehicle is road worthy and I have performed all the necessary checks
- Recording mileage and diesel in take accordingly
- Updating logs and paperwork for each delivery/drop off
- Planning routes and recording time
