If you are looking to relocate for any number of reasons and work for an organisation where they have different locations and you would like to relocate to one of those locations then you will need to put your request for transfer in writing to your employer and for this to be considered by not only your current Manager but probably an HR Manager and also the new Manager/Team/Department that you are looking to relocate to.
In big companies, internal positions are usually advertised so that you will be aware of what roles are coming up, when and their locations so you will know what is available but if it is purely a transfer because of your personal circumstances such as your partner is relocating to that area for example then you may have to wait for an opportunity to arise before a company can take a transfer request seriously.

Job Transfer Request Letter Example
I currently work as JOB TITLE and have worked for COMPANY NAME for HOW LONG based at LOCATION but now I am looking to transfer my role to NAME OF NEW LOCATION.
The reason for my request to transfer to NEW LOCATION is due to Reasons – as detailed above, partner relocation, interest in working in a new country, change of direction etc.
I have really enjoyed my time working at CURRENT LOCATION but feel now is the time to change and I would be very grateful if my request would be considered. If my request is successful I am able to relocate during whatever time frames you need to work to. (if you have any further information here eg: partner relocation when is he/she relocating so the time can be matched ideally etc).
