If you are looking to work as an insurance consultant then you will usually have a strong background in Insurance to be able to operate as a consultant. As an insurance consultant you will visit clients and provide advice on insurance products and matters so you will need to be a confident communicator and have a sales aspect to your role.
You will need to understand insurance and financials to be able to sell and explain this to your clients/customers and provide a good service to them so that they come back to you time and again for all their insurance needs.

I would like to apply for the role of Insurance Consultant which you have got advertised in (which publication and when).
I have been working in Insurance for many years as you can see on my CV. I have more recently worked as an Insurance Claims manager dealing with insurance claims and managing a team of advisors.
I have excellent communication skills and feel able to talk to a number of different people at all levels. I enjoy working in insurance and keeping up to date with the latest products and being able to provide the best insurance advice I possibly can to my clients and customers.
