If you are looking to be Insurance Claims Handler then you will have a good solid background in Customer Services and or Insurance with some finance knowledge. As a Claims Handler you will be speaking to clients on a daily basis and taking details from them about their claims and creating a log of their claim and following this all the way through until the claim has been resolved and the file/case can be closed.
You will need excellent communication skills to do this role and have the ability to be accurate and concentrate on talking to different customers all day long. You will need to be thorough within your paperwork also.
If you have found a role you want to apply for, please see the below covering letter which you can use as a guide. (Don’t forget to amend the letter as suitable before using it for your job applications):

Application for the role of Insurance Claims Handler
I would like to apply for the role of Insurance Claims Handler which you have got advertised in (where) and (when).
I have been working in a Customer Service capacity for many years (how many?) and feel that I have got excellent communication skills and enjoy getting to know my clients or customers and learning about them and trying how best to help them with any issues.
I feel that my skills are transferable into this industry and I have some product knowledge of financial products and services and feel that I would be able to learn about insurance and the process of making a claim and what I would be required to do.
From reading and researching the company I feel that I would be able to do this role well and it is an area I am keen to learn about.
I am a very organised person who likes to ensure that my work is done accurately and efficiently. I am able to work to tight deadlines and work as part of a team and only mown initiative.
Should you have any interest in my skills and experiences, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you.
