Iceland Job Application Process
As you already might know that none of the nationwide retailers does accept printed CVs, cover letters or application forms. It’s much easier to go online and visit icelandcareers.co.uk and submit your application than to hand your CV to a store manager for consideration.
Once you are on the website then move on to the job search section and start going through all the positions that are suitable for you. It’s important to select a job that is close to you in distance. Consider every aspect of the job. Don’t just jump on an opportunity just because you can get it. Think about your long-term goals.
If you are successful at your application then you will be invited for an interview. Well done if you have secured an interview with this frozen giant!
Interview
Be yourself at your interview. Most of the roles don’t require experience as the company provides extensive training. However, it’s good to be prepared for your big day. Here are some of the questions that you might be asked during your interview:
- Why do you want to work for us?
- Have you ever driven a van before?
- Why are you leaving your current job?
- What do you know about us?
- What is your biggest achievement?
- Have you got experience working in retail?
- What do you think customer service is?
CV and Cover Letter
Even though most Iceland jobs don’t require experience it would be an advantage to list your relevant jobs on top of your work history in your CV. You will be asked to upload a cover letter so write an application letter along with your CV. Do not make it too long or too short and keep it as relevant as possible.
New Stores
The company has big plans to increase the number of its stores in the country and each one of the new stores will create jobs for the locals in the area. How do I know the new store openings? Check out your local newspapers, visit iceland.co.uk and use your favourite search engine to find out the latest news about them.
