If you are seeking a new Hairdresser role then you will have had previous experience and be qualified as a Hairdresser after attending a college course and doing relevant work experience in a salon.

You must be a creative individual to work in hairdressing, to advise customers on what styles and or colours they should go for and be able to recreate new styles that customers want.

You will also need to be a people person with good communication skills to provide conversation during their visit and build relationships with your customers so that they come back time after time.

I am a creative individual who has a good eye for fashion, styles and colours. I pursued my career in hairdressing after cutting my friend’s hair at school! Since then I have attended college, done work experience at a local salon and got 3 years of experience under my belt.

I feel that I am a real people person and enjoy talking to my customers. I have gained a lot of repeat customers over the years and enjoy the familiarity that comes with these business relationships.

I am very hardworking and dedicated to my role. I enjoy doing new training courses on products and ways of working and like to keep my skills up to date so that I can pass on my training to my customers.

In my role as Hairdresser, I do customer’s hair in whatever styles or colours they want and provide advice to my customers should they want it. My responsibilities include:

  • Cutting hair, colouring hair and styling hair
  • Doing wedding appointments for hairstyles
  • Providing advice to customers on hair styles and colours
  • Providing advice to customers on different hair treatments they can have
  • Selling hair products that they salon have
  • Cleaning the salon
  • Getting towels ready to be washed and making sure clean towels are always out and the salon is prepared for the next customer.

QUALIFICATIONS

University, College, School – For all include titles/subjects and qualifications.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer skills – MS Office, Excel??? Anything relevant, industry specific packages?
Note your specific hairdressing training and qualifications including any work experience during your training such as a Saturday job etc.
