Gas Technician Cover Letter Example

Because of the dangerous nature of the job, gas technicians have to have an excellent commitment to and knowledge of health and safety and be registered with the Gas Safe register by gaining appropriate qualifications including NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Gas Installation or Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating. A driving licence is usually required as the role requires travelling to several sites and locations each day. You will be usually called to work in people’s homes or businesses so good customer service skills and an interest in working with people are essential. The role can be very physically demanding so a good standard of health and fitness is required as well as an aptitude for maths, problem solving and science. It is possible to train on the job via an apprenticeship scheme.

I am looking for an apprenticeship where I can develop a long term career as a gas technician. I am a very practical individual with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. I work well on my own initiative and am good at making decisions. I work hard, have a high standard of physical fitness and health and take health and safety very seriously.

I am naturally good with numbers and science, am very technical and enjoy challenges so I know that a career as a gas technician is ideal for me.

I am friendly and flexible and comfortable working with a wide range of customers. I have a full driving licence and am able to work antisocial hours if necessary. I am reliable with excellent time keeping skills and will be a committed, enthusiastic team member.
