If you are looking to be a gardener and have found a role in which you want to apply for you will have a keen interest in plants and gardens and maintaining these. Usually a gardener will work for private clients at their homes or you could work for a bigger company maintaining parks, historical house gardens and event places.
You will be expected to have a keen eye for what looks good and what doesn’t and what plants and trees should be with what? You will know how various lawnmowers, strimmers and other tools that you need for your role and how they work. You will need to be able to communicate with your clients and colleagues so good communication skills is a must. You will be hardworking and not afraid of working in bad weather.
Gardeners can earn between £17,000 to £25,000 a year. They usually work self employed on a contract with the clients however they may also work as an employee of a company.
