A food service assistant is someone who helps to prepare and serve food maybe in a school, a hospital or even a commercial environment such as a coffee shop or restaurant.
You will usually have some relevant food and hygiene related qualifications or be prepared to train on the job. This will be dependent on the volume of experience required as per the individual role.
You will need to have a keen interest in helping to make and serve volume food of any number of dishes and keep it warm until it is served and delivered to the people requiring the food depending on the environment.

Application for a Food Service Assistant
I would like to apply for the role of Food Service Assistant which I have seen advertised in (where) and (when).
I have had previous roles working in a hospital setting where I helped to make the meals on a daily basis which we rotated so that we got to make different things weekly. The dishes we made were varied and healthy but also I was involved in ensuring that dietary requirements were adhered to for health reasons or religion reasons. I enjoyed this variety and the importance of ensuring that the dishes were right and varied for the patients.
I have also done my basic hygiene certificate, please see enclosed with my CV so I understand the importance of ensuring a kitchen is kept clean and germ free and that precautions are taking when working with food to ensure that it is not contaminated at any cost.
