If you have spent time doing an application form and you are desperate to hear from that company then it is very frustrating. It is also worth noting that some companies despite all the effort you have gone to in submitting your application form, may not hear back from them as to any feedback.
One way to follow up your application form is to send them a follow up letter in which you can reiterate your skills and experiences in line with their job description but also ask them for any feedback and express your interest in the role again.

My background is (explain a bit about your relevant experience in line with the role you have applied for. Use the similar wording that they have used in their application and job description to ensure that they pick up on the wording and view it as what they are looking for).
I would be available for an interview or Telephone interview at short notice should you feel that my skills are relevant to this position.
