If you have spent a lot of time doing a lengthy application form or submitting an application online etc and you are sitting waiting for feedback this can be very frustrating and you will want to follow this up. Before doing so, ensure that you have passed the closing date of the application and that you have left it a little while before following this up, especially if it feels a long time as you submitted your application well before the closing date.
In your letter to the company, it would be a good idea to reiterate parts of your application, if you have taken a copy of it, go back through it and pick out relevant parts of the role specifically such as if they wanted a specific degree or qualification and you have it.
