To be an Equalities Officer you will probably be educated to degree level but be interested in helping to promote equality and ensuring that people from minority groups do not

get unfairly treated. This equality could be because of a person’s age, disability they may have or indeed their gender. It is important that all people are equal and feel this is the case.

You will need to be an excellent communicator as you will be working with very different people and you will need to be able to relate to all kinds of people from all walks of life.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Application for the role of Equalities Officer

I would like to apply for the role of Equalities Officer which you have advertised in (which publication, when and what job reference if any).

I completed a degree in Business Administration at (what University and when and what grade) and I would be very interested to do a role within Equality. I feel that I have excellent communication skills and listening skills and I would like to help promote equality and diversity within the workplace and society.

I have had some experience in working with the communities and feel that this is an area I would like to be more involved in. I like to keep an open mind when talking to people and I never judge them. I firmly believe that everyone should be treated equally and fairly and I like to ensure that businesses adopt these measures and have a happy and diverse work force.

I am very organised and hard working, I like to be out in the community as well as ensuring my paperwork is accurate and up to date. I have enclosed my CV for your consideration. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and CV.

Yours sincerely
