As an Engineering Construction Technician you would be responsible for designing, maintaining and building buildings and equipment such as machinery in various industries such as the Oil industry, construction etc.
As a Technician, you could be responsible for designing the equipment or assembling it, fitting it or testing and inspecting it depending on your skillset as a Technician. You may have entered this career through an apprenticeship scheme or gone down the path to BTec’s etc to be qualified.
An apprenticeship scheme is the best way to start a career as an engineering construction technician.
Salaries
Starting salaries for construction technicians can be around £18,000 and £21,500 a year.
Experienced and fully qualified technicians salaries can be between £23,000 and £32,000 a year.
Senior technicians salaries can be more than £36,000 a year.

I would be very interested in joining the apprenticeship scheme for the role of Engineering Construction Technician and to start a career in this area. I have had many years experience of in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and always had a keen interest in Maths and the Sciences.
I have looked into the role of Engineering Construction Engineer and would like to learn how to install equipment, do welding and be involved in designing and drafting. I have a good working knowledge of health and safety and know the importance of following strict guidelines, rules and procedures in such an environment.
I have a good problem solving mind and am able to think about things logically and solve them in a practical manner. I have excellent communication skills and able to liaise well with my colleagues and trade people.
