Energy advisors often work for large energy suppliers, advising customers on how to save on bills and use their energy supplies in more environmentally friendly ways. Good scientific and mathematical knowledge are both essential as you will be required to explain complex information and use formulas to demonstrate cost savings. Strong communication and customer service skills are very important. Work is usually 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. It is helpful to have some experience in working a similar field, and this role is often a natural progression for engineers who are looking for less physically demanding work.
