A Dental nurse helps and assists a dentist with all aspects of patient care. If you have a keen interest in oral hygiene and health then this could be the ideal role for you.
Patients come to dentist surgeries for all manner of treatment from checkups to more specialised services and treatment. You will need to be a calm individual and provide support to your patients through communication.
To become a dental nurse you will need a good general standard of education and you will train as you learn usually through a general practice.

In my role as a Dental Nurse, I help support the Dentist with patients and keep the surgery free from all dirt. My responsibilities include:
Prepare the surgery for patients
Assist the Dentist with patients and treatment
Passing equipment in surgery to the Dentist and preparing materials such as fillings for the dentist to use
Ensure the administration and payment side is completed accurately
Arrange appointments for patients
Send out letters for follow up appointments
Keep accurate stock control.
