A copywriter is someone who produces written work, articles, documents etc or for advertising purposes such as radio, newspapers etc. You will need to have a creative nature and be able to research information and understand it enough to write about a topic that appeals to the people reading the text.
Rather than needing specific qualifications to do this role, employers will be interested in how you write, your style, technique etc so you may be required to provide some of your previous work for them to read through.
If you are ready to apply for a role as Copywriter, please see the below covering letter which you can use as a guide. You can amend this letter example as suitable and apply for the latest positions in your field. Let us know if you require this example in any other format including docx, pdf etc.
Cover Letter for Copywriter
Application for a Copywriter
I have recently seen your advert for a Copywriter advertised in (where) and (when) and I would be interested in applying for this role.
I feel that I have excellent writing skills and have to date written on many differing subjects (can you say a few here as an example?) I can also provide you with some copy of my writing should you be interested but I have noted on my CV some direct links to articles that I have written so you can see my writing style.
I have always had a creative flair and enjoyed writing; I used to write short stories and articles for my own when I was younger so I knew that this is something I wanted to do as an adult.
I have excellent written and oral communication. I enjoy researching and ensuring that I understand the subjects that I am writing about and get a buzz from a finished article being published or printed.
I am a confident personality who likes to succeed and I want to continue my career as a writer and am very interested in the role that you have advertised.
Please find enclosed a recent copy of my CV. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application and I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
