A copywriter is someone who produces written work, articles, documents etc or for advertising purposes such as radio, newspapers etc. You will need to have a creative nature and be able to research information and understand it enough to write about a topic that appeals to the people reading the text.

Rather than needing specific qualifications to do this role, employers will be interested in how you write, your style, technique etc so you may be required to provide some of your previous work for them to read through.

Application for a Copywriter

I have recently seen your advert for a Copywriter advertised in (where) and (when) and I would be interested in applying for this role.

I feel that I have excellent writing skills and have to date written on many different subjects (can you say a few here as an example?) I can also provide you with some copy of my writing should you be interested but I have noted on my CV some direct links to articles that I have written so you can see my writing style.

I have always had a creative flair and enjoyed writing; I used to write short stories and articles for my own when I was younger so I knew that this is something I wanted to do as an adult.
I have excellent written and oral communication. I enjoy researching and ensuring that I understand the subjects that I am writing about and get a buzz from a finished article being published or printed.

I am a confident personality who likes to succeed and I want to continue my career as a writer and am very interested in the role that you have advertised.
