As a Construction Contracts Manager, you would be responsible for running the contracts that a building firm has and maybe even help them to get new contracts for the firm. You would also be responsible for the overall control of the contracts and assigning the correct project manager and team to that contract.
You will need to be organised and thorough in your work, be able to communicate well and work to specific deadlines. You will need excellent management skills and be able to provide clear direction to the people who work with you.
Your job is to win new building contracts for your company. You will also make sure that the project is completed nicely by managing the whole process from winning the contract to completion. You must have good knowledge of construction. Strong IT and Math skills are essential.
Salaries are for contracts managers are starting from £25,000 to £45,000 a year. Experienced contracts managers can earn more than £50,000 a year. Some companies may offer you other benefits too including car allowance and commissions.
