A Care Worker is someone who works in a home providing support to patients in general health and also in wellbeing. Depending on the needs of the patients will determine exactly what duties you will be required to do on a daily basis but overall you will be required to provide a welcoming and comforting place of residence to the patients.
You will need to have a caring nature and to be able to work being patient and calm and providing support and guidance to the patients in the home. You will need excellent communication skills and need to be able to talk to both patients and their relatives ensuring that you provide relatives with the information they need about their loved ones.

Date to Date or To Date – Care Worker – Where?
In my role as Care Worker, I provide support and care to the patients in the home and also to their relatives as needed. My responsibilities include:
Ensure the patients get up in a morning, help them with getting dressed, cleaning and ensuring they get some breakfast
Lunch and tea duties
Help with the kitchen, meals, drinks and snacks
General cleaning and keeping areas hygienic
Welcoming visitors to the home
Assisting patients with their needs
Activities for the patients
General shopping requirements for the patients.
University, College, School – For all include titles/subjects and qualifications.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Think about what skills you need for a Care Worker role – training that you might have done such as lifting, health and safety and general care work.
Any IT skills for any paperwork, records that you may be required to do whilst on duty.
