Care Home Advocate Cover Letter Example

If you have experience of working in a Care Home or with the Elderly in another setting or centre then this role may be what you are looking for. The role of Care Home Advocate is to help and support a person, usually an elderly person in helping them to understand what is happening and what they should expect.

You will need to be a patient and caring person by nature with excellent listening skills. You will need to give people time to think and digest information and come back with any questions relating to their day to day lives and the decisions that they have to make.

I have excellent communication skills and feel that this is extremely important for the role that you have advertised. I have previous experience of working as a Care Assistant and feel that I am now ready to move into a different area and feel that with the experience I have gained that I have enough prior knowledge to work closely with the patients in the Care Home.

I understand that as part of my role I will be responsible for ensuring that the resident’s points of view are heard and understood and that the best decisions are made for them all round. I understand that at some points the residents may not understand and that I will need to spend a great deal of time with them explaining details.

I enjoy working with the elderly and enjoy giving them as much time as they need and helping them in a difficult situation and when they feel vulnerable being unable to stay in their own homes and familiarity to them.

I have enclosed my CV which shows in detail my previous experiences. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and CV.

Yours sincerely
