A CAD Technician uses software to create design plans for buildings and machinery. To do this role you would need to have good maths and IT skills and you would need to have an understanding of how things are made and built.
You could become a CAD technician by starting as an apprentice or you could train through a college course.

I have just seen your advert for a CAD Technician and I would be interested in applying for this role.
I have completed a CAD course through (where) and I am now looking to begin my career and I liked the sound of your role and after researching your company I am very interested and feel that I could be a good asset to your company.
I have excellent maths and IT skills and I also have a creative way of working. I enjoy designing plans and seeing in the way it comes together.
I am a hardworking individual who is very organised and thorough and pays great attention to detail.
I like to work as part of a team and also on my own initiative but ensuring that the jobs always get done and completely on time within any guidelines set.
